Joint projects of the Fund Forum with public organizations of the Republic of Korea

The Fund Forum pays special attention to the development of cultural cooperation with the organizations of the Korean Republic.

On September 3, 2008 a meeting with representatives of the National Museum of Korea was held at the office of the Fund Forum in Tashkent. The objectives of the delegation from Korea was to examine the historical material stored in museums of Uzbekistan in order to open the exhibition, and then a Division of Central Asian history and culture at the Museum of Korea.

On February 23, 2009, in Tashkent Fund Forum signed a “Memorandum of cultural and scientific exchange and cooperation” with the National Museum of Korea. The National Museum of Korea is one of the largest museums in the world, which possesses 250 000 exhibits. Archaeological excavations are carried out under the patronage of the museum. Special courses on history for young people, teachers, scientists, tourist guides are organized under the Museum.

Scaled projects

On November 15 to 19, 2007 at the Center of National Arts of the Fund Forum a unique Korean pressed flowers exhibition was conducted in Tashkent. The organizers of the exhibition were the Fund Forum, mayors office of Goyang city (Republic of Korea), Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, as well as the Wonyang SMA Company with the assistance of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Uzbekistan.

On November 26-30, 2008 in Seoul (Republic of Korea) the Great Silk Road cultural Festival was held with participation of the Fund Forum and the Association of designers and modelers «Osiyo Ramzi». During the Festival there were presented the best models of Style.uz Art Week - the grand fashion project of Gulnara Karimova in Uzbekistan. Organizers of the Festival: Cultural Center of the Korean Foundation, the Silk Road Foundation, the National Museum of Korea, the Embassies of the republics of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan to the Republic of Korea, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Korea and the Arts Council of Korea.

22 April 2009, concert titled "Korean culture goes along the Silk Road" held as part of the Festival of Korean Culture. The stage of Turkiston Palace featured leading creative teams and performers of Uzbekistan and Korea. The event was organized by Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Uzbekistan's Ministry of Culture and Sports, and the Fund Forum.

May 15-20, 2009, “The Fragrance of Silk”: Korea-Central Asia Culture Exchange Festival has held in Seoul. The organizers of the project are the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Korea and the Fund Forum. The «Ofarin» dance theater, «Surhon» popular music ensemble and Sardor Rahimhon represented Uzbekistan on the concert program of the Festival.

July 1-3, 2009, Tashkent hosted a Festival of Korean Art. The Festival presented Korea's traditional and contemporary music, dances and ballet.

November 16, 2009 – September 26, 2010 “East and West Civilizations Crossroads: Uzbekistan’s Ancient Culture” Exhibition in the National Museum of Korea. The exposition features more than 150 exhibits, reflecting Uzbekistan’s rich history and heritage since antiquity. The Exhibition is of great value because it demonstrates the close relations in the sphere of culture and art between Uzbekistan and Korea, which were established during the Silk Road period.

From May 9 to May 21, 2011, four groups of doctors from Seoul National University Bundan Hospital (South Korea) performed a series of charitable surgeries on patients in need of urgent surgical interference from low-income families.
